The leading iVote election experts have been contracted to deliver the upgrade of the secure, trustworthy election management platform for the local Election in Albania in 2015. The project is managed by Assist Impact, a non-profit organization, and is funded by USAID. The goal of the project is to provide efficient, transparent and timely management of electoral activities and administration processes. Election Night Results web site will be transmitting live results and turnout. Internal work processes will be substantially improved and alleviated. CEC staff of Albania will be trained by the experts how to use the system. On line courses as well will be essential part of the training. The whole phase consisted of: system specification, system implementation and training will finish by October 2014.
Modernization of the election processes in Albania started in 2013 and continues. The system will be divided in one core system configuration module and five primary modules that will be used for different phases in the election process and by different user types. The core system module will enable electoral configuration and administration while primary modules are set for: tracking, management of Election Day functions, results consolidation, audit, investigation and internal reports and Election Night Reporting – ENR (Official Web Site for Results). All these modules together with appropriate training will serve for better election efficiency and transparency.
